There is no proof that they aren't some schism from Freemasonry.
Trust me they are in NO way a part of the Masonic community. Absolutely NOT!!!
oh man, i know i'm gonna catch flack for this.. everyone sees masonic conspiracies everywhere.. i am not a conspiracy theorist.
i don't honestly believe the governing body are freemasons.. yet, probably due to cruising this site and seeing all the masonic conspiracy threads, i saw this when looking for a shot of lett's pinky ring to show how he wore one in october, but then took it off in may to ask for money.. .
original is on the left, and on the right, i played with the brightness/contrast to get it to show up a little better.. what does the pattern on his ring look like to you?.

At least the Freemasons seem to have some demonstrable impact on society.

The WTS are pretty much Freemason wannabes...
The majority of the Masonic community is ALL about the children. We raise huge amounts of money for their benefit. One group has just completed it 23 hospital dedicated to children. Parents pay ZERO. One of the women's groups makes sure that all the parent's needs (hotel, travel, etc) are taken care of while the child is being cared for. We never ask any religious questions, just need and medical based questions.
This is one group that is very protective of ALL children theirs and everyone elses.

Neither of his rings are Masonic. It would include both the square and compass. It is very rare that it is a pinky ring. It will normally have the letter "G" in the center. These rings are big and bulky never seen one that was small.
Even the ladies groups our rings are not that small.
a pic from the bible teach book was posted on reddit's popular /r/wtf subreddit where people post things that make you say "what the fuck" out loud.
this was the photo and you can read the thread's comments here.
it was one of the most-upvoted pictures today on the subreddit.. i visit that subreddit once in awhile and laughed out loud when i saw the thread..
as a very young child i have memories of several book burnings done by jw families.
it wasn't something arranged by the congregation, but elders did participate in it.
it was actually scary for me as a child of only about 8 years old.
Okay, I thought this religion was strange but this thread just topped the cake!!! Really these things really go on.
It is a good thing the Elder never came to my house, we would be having a huge fire for several days (LOL). If he ever found out what I allowed as a single parent, althougth I think he may suspect. My son had D&D and Majic the Gathering parties. Both of my kids turned out with super manners, praised by employers and super well liked. The Elder and I am sure none of you and neither do I agree with their philosophy on marriage but I cannot blame them. As they both have told me live together first make SURE it is right before we become you.

so i moved from one state to another and they require you to connect the dots of the last name.
last name on birth certificate must match last name on marriage license.
Must have a sense of humor when you live my crazy life. So I moved from one state to ànother and they require you to connect the dots of the last name. Last name on birth certificate must match last name on marriage license. I never did anything in my life that required my birth certificate -- no travel nothing. So I was trying to get this document, filled out the required form, emailed inquiries hey I need this, lots of phone messages -- my daughter and I are sorta like driving around this state and are vehicles are not registered properly, I cannot get a valid driver's license. Finally, I am driving the car my daughter is with me, I am 62yr 10 mo 13 days (never forget this day) the clerk of the court calls. OH, you are driving your car I will call back, NO. She repeats that again I say NO, please I need this birth certificate we are so illegally driving around this state. She proceeds, is it possible that you were adopted. Well anything is possible since my mother is a pathologicall liar. Long story short the only name that matched her first & middle, my first & middle. For her last name she went back a generation. For my last name she used her maiden name. For father's name she put down my grandfather.
When we questioned her don't know anything about it. I think he was a cop. She is a sever Alz patient.
So I ordered a DNA through Ancestry dot Com it sat on my dresser for 6 months because -- what if -- this guy was not faithful to his wife and his kids are about to find out they have a half sister they knew nothing about. I HATE hurting people.
Turning point to send in the DNA, I love Josh Groban, You Lift Me Up. He was on the show tracing his ancestry. The next day I sent mine in.
SENSE OF HUMOR -- got the results this past week, LOL. My father was 60 and a widow when I was born. His wife died the same year my mother was born. There was a 35 year age difference. If any of my 5 siblings are still alive they will all be well into their 90s. So all those months I worried about what? LOL. Just rolling my eyes. Just so glad my mother is in another state far away.
i'm ignorant to the social welfare programs outside the us, but listening to others i have to assume in europe it is more generous.
i've not had deep personal conversation with active witnesses for nearly 20 years.
last year i made contact with a family and some elders came to my house.

this was my very first impression of the Witnesses
it has been interesting to see the shift in financial strategies that the wts is implementing recently.
from reading recent threads, it appears like 'they' are adopting a tithing donation system, similar to what is practised in "those wicked churches of christendoom".
i am curious as to who it is that stands to benefit the most tax wise in this recent shift.
JeffT,
In a prior post I provided a link to the IRS publication covering cash contributions. You obviously have not been audited. You might want to review this document, as a little help you might want to look for this paragraph:
You can claim a deduction for a contribution of $250 or more only if you have an acknowledgment of your contribution from the qualified organization or certain payroll deduction records.
If you made more than one contribution of $250 or more, you must have either a separate acknowledgment for each or one acknowledgment that lists each contribution and the date of each contribution and shows your total contributions.
The reason I point this out is that I know for a fact I have had to track down these receipts every year when filing my tax return. Now I make sure I get the receipts within 30 days of making the donations, makes tax preparation time a little easier.
